1980: A Special Award was given to Vin Rosenthal for originating the Midwinter Meetings of the Division.
1983: A Special Award was given to Fran Pepitone-Rockwell for her work in keeping the Division’s journal free of sexist language.
1985: A Distinguished Service Award was given to Benjamin Fabrikant for years of dedication and effectiveness as administrative coordinator
1989: Matty Canter received an award for her service as Administrative Liaison between the Division’s Central Office and its Executive Committee.
1990: Special awards were given to Scott Mesh and David Pilon, early student affiliates of the Division who played a significant role in the
establishment of the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS)
1990: A Special Award was given to Bryant Welch, Executive Director of the APA Practice Directorate, for his outstanding contributions.
1998: Russ Newman received an award in appreciation for all his efforts on behalf of practice, at the Midwinter Convention.
2002: Living Legends of Psychotherapy Awards were presented at the Midwinter Convention to James Bugenthal, Albert Ellis, Rachel Hare-Mustin,
and Alvin Mahrer.
2004: Jack Wiggins was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award
