Welcome students! My name is Meg Tobias and I am both honored and excited to serve during 2013 and 2014 as the Chair of the Student Development Committee. I am currently a graduate student in the Doctor of Psychology program in Clinical Psychology at Loyola University Maryland. I see great value in student involvement in our profession and am dedicated to increasing the involvement of other students in psychology as well. I am excited to be able to utilize my position on the Board of Directors of Division 29 to become more involved and help further student initiatives. I have several goals in mind for my term as Chair of the Student Development Committee, including enhancing the content of the student page of the Division’s website, increasing student involvement from Division 29 in future APA Conventions, and possibly starting a mentorship match program to connect graduate students with early career psychologists or seasoned professionals within the Division. I am particularly interested in increasing student involvement in Division 29 by expanding the Student Development Committee and working with a team of students to develop new ideas and work towards furthering these goals. I encourage students to join the student Listserv to further communication of ideas and information within the student community. I would also love to hear from you personally and encourage anyone interested in learning more about involvement in the Student Development Committee to contact me directly at mrtobias@loyola.edu.
